Dear Mum – Can you answer a letter from Hazel Maud for me? You can? Thank you, that’s fine! I’ve had two letters from Tom recently, too, which is a good thing. He must be having a good time. We have had an issue of N.Z. Red Cross parcels recently – it was odd to see the old familiar labels on the tins. We have been trying to make ice-rinks again this winter, but with no success. Every time it freezes a little and we flood them with water, it thaws again. However, I guess that saves me just so many bruises this season. Hazel tells me she is sending a photo, which is a good thing – even if the photo is as bad as she says it is. I certainly know Ivan Collett – he was very helpful to me when I first arrived in this camp. A cousin of his was in my form at Napier. Small world, isn’t it? There’s a chap from Brenda C’s. office here, too. Glad to hear that so many of my letters have arrived safely; I don’t think many, if any, from your end are missing, either. Well, remember me to all the folks – here’s love to yourself, Hazel & family from Arnold G.
