Dear Mum. Do you remember that I told you I’d been a maid in a play? Well, I’m attaching a photo of the occasion – not a very good one, since I moved, but I hope it arrives as safely as the last one. I’m rehearsing for two more plays at the moment, as a maid in both of them, so maybe I have a permanent job for the duration. It still looks like a long business, but every P.O.W. always says, “it’s bound to finish next year,” so here’s hoping. Tell Hazel Maud(e) her photo and two letters have arrived safely, and that I was very pleased to have them. Should I be polite and say the baby looks like its father, or be honest and say I don’t see any resemblance to anyone in particular. However, by the time I see it in the flesh we will be able to decide much better. The mail hasn’t been coming my way recently, but now Spring is on the way, who can tell?
