Dear Mum – I guess the biggest news this time is that I have had a letter from the folks in Denmark; it was from Cousin Asley in Randers, because uncle, to whom I wrote, died in April 1941. He sent some photos of his wife and their baby, Lise, aged 2. It was a very nice letter to receive. My Danish is coming along not too badly, so I shall be able to talk to them on that visit after the war. I have now had two or three very pleasant letters from Peggy Murray in England, and have heard from Tom again, from Mrs Steeves in Canada saying she’d heard from you, and from Mrs Bassett in England. One or two chaps I knew in England have turned up here now, none of them N.Z’s. however. The days are pretty full for me with all the various odds and ends I do to pass the time, and they go past pretty quickly. By the way, I once mentioned sending some cartoons, but after I wrote permission was cancelled, so they won’t be coming now. Bad luck. Till next time, much love to yourself and all the folks from Arnold G.
