Dear Mum – Nothing further in the mail box to report this month, so there must be a big consignment coming up for me somewhere. I had a change of residence early in the month, and am now rooming with three Belgians and two Englishmen. One of the Belgians is my old French instructor Henri Picard (whose caricatures as I’ve mentioned earlier, we weren’t able to send to you after all; it’s a pity the permission was cancelled, because they are very good indeed). Sad to say, our summer here is over but I guess there is another one coming next year. Which reminds me – it is about time to wish you many happy returns, as by the time this arrives you should be on the point of celebrating. Another excellent show has just finished in the camp theatre – a play this time. You’d be amazed to see the things the chaps turn on – real professional finish in all of them, and there is all sorts of talent to be found, of course. Hope Hazel and co., as well as yourself, are fit, even if you don’t enjoy the summer! (I do!) Lots of love to all from Arnold G.
