Dear Mum – I think it is a good time now to wish you many happy returns of February; hope this arrives in time. Perhaps I’ll be able to deliver the greeting in person the next time! In the meantime all is well here, except for a temporary shortage of letters which I hope will be remedied with a big batch presently when more come in. We have had one or two more very good shows in our theatre, and a big thrill from seeing our first English (or rather, American) film in captivity. It was an old Ginger Rogers-Fred Astaire show, and probably never had a more enthusiastic audience. This week we have “Macbeth” – the first Shakespeare our theatrical folk have tried here. Four of the boys in my room are busy in the entertainment business, and as three of them are artists it’s quite an active room-full. I have had a parcel of books from the Danish Boy Scouts, and I think I’ve already mentioned the second food-parcel. Well, Mum, here’s love to Hazel & co. and all the family (especially to yourself) from Arnold G.
