Throughout the war Arnold wrote a series of letters home, most of these were to his mum, Lilian, or his fiancée, Joan, with some others being to his sister Hazel, and his family in Denmark.

Most of the letters we have were ones he sent to his mum. We have all the letters she received, apart from the last one as she couldn’t bring herself to open it.
He also sent some letters to his older sister, Hazel.
Arnold’s Dad came from Denmark so he sent some letters to his Aunt and Uncle there, of the two which we have, one is in English, and one is in Danish but we do have a translation done by a family friend.
