Halifax,

Dear Mum and Dad,
This has to be a very hurried note as we are at Halifax waiting for the next move and I haven’t much spare time. Three letters of yours arrived to-day – one from Wellington and two air-mail from Hastings. I was glad to hear that you are getting along O.K., Father, and sorry to learn that your razor has apparently gone to the bottom. It doesn’t seem much use sending another one, but perhaps I can bring another one home with me. Some of my letters are missing, too; nos. 14 and 15 from you, and there’s a gap in Joan’s correspondence, too.
I can’t tell you all about it here, but we had a swell leave – saw Winnipeg, Ottawa, Chicago, Detroit, Syracuse, New York and Washington; the Americans gave us a great time. I’ll write in detail when I get a chance, but in the meantime love to you both from Arnold G.
P.S. – your cable turned up here, too, thank you.
